Four Belgian-style ales, from Brewery Ommegang were honored in the Chicagobased Beverage Tasting Institute review of dark, winter and stout beers.

All four beers were awarded Gold Medals; lead by a 95 rating for Ommegang’s namesake  Ommegang Abbey Ale,an 8.5 percent Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel. Following with a 92 rating is Ommegang Adoration Winter ale, a 10 percent abv dark winter Belgian-style ale brewed with five malts and five spices.

With 91 ratings are both Ommegang Three Philosophers Quadrupel, a 9.7 percent abv quadrupel with blended-in Belgian Kriek (a cherry beer), and Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence Stout, a 7 percent Belgian-style stout brewed with real Belgian chocolate.
