Concert Series show to benefit food pantry

The Cooperstown Concert Series will continue its 50th season with a fundraiser for the Cooperstown Food Pantry.

Penny Knight Band will play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the First Baptist Church at 21 Elm St. in Cooperstown.

According to a media release, 50% of all profits will be donated to the pantry. In addition, concert attendees are encouraged to non-perishable food or other donations for the pantry.

An Albany band featuring the eponymous singer/drummer Penny Knight has been touring for decades, mixing covers with original materials. The band plays a mix of styles, including hard rock, funk and fusion.

“Constantly expanding their recording catalog and releasing original songs to the public, the Penny Knight Band also put their own twist on rare cover material into their power packed set,” a media release said.

Tickets are available online at cooperstownconcertseries.org and locally at Ellsworth and Sill, Riverwood, Church & Scott Pharmacy and The Fly Creek General Store.
