National juried exhibit to open at Cooperstown galleries

The preview party and awards ceremony to open the 84th Annual National Juried Art Exhibition at the Cooperstown Art Association galleries will take place Friday, July 12. The reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with music by Tim Iversen and M.W. Degan. 

A gallery talk and tour will be presented by juror Christopher Murray at 4 p.m. Awards will be announced at 6 p.m.

The show is a juried art exhibit organized by the Cooperstown Art Association, which is open to all fine artists. The show encompasses a wide range of media including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, according to a media release. Murray selected entries from across the United States, with 11 states represented.

In addition to the exhibit, this year’s 2019 CAA Art Scholarship Award winner will be announced during the awards presentation.

The exhibit will be on display in all three galleries of the CAA at 22 Main St. in the village building from through Aug. 16. The gallery will be closed Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21 during Hall of Fame Weekend. The gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
