Thornton Wilder’s classic play “Our Town” will open Aug. 7 in Cooperstown for a one-month run, set against the backdrop of Otsego Lake at Fenimore Art Museum’s Lucy B. Hamilton Amphitheater.
Presented by Fenimore’s Glimmer Globe Theatre and directed by Beth Templeton, the play will feature an ensemble cast including Lissa Sidoli, Maria Noto, Marcus Hudson, Joan Badgley and Charlie Reiman. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28.
The plot revolves around the everyday lives of the people living in fictional Grover’s Corners, tracking them through youth, marriage and death.
This is the fifth season of live theater in Fenimore’s lakeside amphitheater.
Advance tickets are available on the Fenimore’s website through Eventbrite. Tickets may also be purchased at the theater the evening of any performance between 6 to 7 p.m. Tickets: $15 adults, $13.50 seniors/members, $10 ages 17 and under, free ages six and under. Concessions, blankets and seat cushions will be available for purchase.
In the event of a performance cancellation because of inclement weather, all tickets will be valid for any subsequent Glimmer Globe performance for the remainder of the season.
