The Cooperstown Central School District budget vote and election are scheduled for June 9 by absentee ballot only.

The district’s budget vote and Board of Education election will be held by absentee ballot only, pursuant to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.26 issued on May 1. All qualified voters of the district are eligible to vote by absentee ballot. The district will mail absentee ballots with postage paid return envelopes to registered voters. Any qualified voter who is not registered to vote with the Otsego County Board of Elections may request a ballot by contacting Wendy Lansing, district clerk, at 607-547-5364, by email at or faxing 607-547-5100. All requests for absentee ballots must be made no later than May 29. All completed ballots must be received by the district clerk by 5 p.m. on June 9.

A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots have been issued will be available in the office of the district clerk. It may be available for inspection by any qualified voter of the district until June 9. Any person desiring to see the list should contact Lansing at 607-547-5364 to make arrangements.

A qualified voter is one who is (1) A citizen of the United States. (2) At least 18 years old. (3) A resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the annual vote and election and (4) Who is not otherwise prohibited from voting under the provision of section 5-106 of the Election Law.
