A late goal by Max Horvath lifted the Patriots past the Wolverines in a Monday, Oct. 11, contest.

Horvath scored the game-winner for CVS with just four minutes left in the game. His teammate Will Heinrich opened the scoring with 12 minutes left in the second half.

Worcester’s Connor Fancher tied things up with just over 10 minutes left.

CVS goalie Gavin Valenta made seven saves while Tyler Head stopped nine shots for Worcester.

Sauquoit Valley 1 (Tuesday)

The Cooperstown boys captured the Center State Conference title on Tuesday, Oct. 12, with a 3-1 victory over Sauquoit Valley.

Liam Spencer, Colby Diamond and Aidan Spencer each scored a goal for the Hawkeyes, with Wyatt Montana and Luca Gardner-Olesen each providing an assist.

For Sauquoit, Andrew Dischiavo scored with an assist from Joshua LoGalbo.

Goalkeeper Finn Holohan saved two shots for Cooperstown.

The Hawkeyes’ overall record is 13-0 for the season.

Milford/Laurens defeated Cherry Valley-Springfield in overtime on Wednesday, Oct. 13, as Brock Mann netted the winning goal in extra time to help his team advance to the Tri-Valley League title game.

Mann also had an assist, while teammates Riley Stevens and Adam Peddie each scored a goal, and Martin Thorsland had an assist.

For CVS, Kris Cade and Allen Parker each scored a goal, and Max Horvath provided an assist.

Goalkeeper Chase Long saved five shots for M/L, and Gavin Valentina blocked 12 for CVS.

Liam Spencer notched one goal and one assist, Ollie Wasson had one goal, Luca Gardner-Olesen had two assists, and Declan White and Ben Agostino each had one assist. Carter Derek had eight saves for Mount Markham and Finn Holohan had one for Cooperstown.

Milford/Laurens 1 (Saturday)

The Franklin/Unatego boys won a hard-fought contest against Milford/Laurens 2-1 on Saturday, Oct. 16, to win the Tri-Valley League championship.

Matt Serrao opened the scoring for Franklin/Unatego just five minutes into the game thanks to an assist by David Lamb. Milford/Laurens would tie things up before the half on a goal by Brock Mann that came off an assist by Adam Peddie.

Serrao would find the back of the net again for the winning tally, beating the Milford/Laurens keeper four minutes into the second half.

Franklin/Unatego keeper Aidan Ross was stout throughout, finishing with 10 saves in the victory. Chase Long made four stops for Milford/Laurens.

Bosc netted a hat trick to pace the CVS offense, while Joleen Lusk and Kailey Barnes also found the back of the net.

Izzy Odell scored the lone goal for Worcester.

In goal, Daphnee West made five stops for CVS. Worcester’s Maci Milavec notched 12 saves.

Marissa Campbell set up Kayla Campbell for the game-winner with just over three minutes left in regulation. Shannon Kingsbury also scored for the Purple Devils off an assist by Valentina Temple.

For Milford, Kara Mertz scored a goal with an assist from Mikenna Buriello.

In net, Leanna West saved nine shots for Milford, while Maddie Hyzer blocked two for Franklin.

Goalkeeper Daphnee West saved 13 shots for CVS, and Abby White blocked 11 for Edmeston.

Anna Bischoff earned a pair of firsts for the Yellowjackets, winning the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Also winning for OHS were Victoria Heilveil (200 IM), Caitlin Wiltsey (diving), Kaylen Turley (100 free), and Breigha Truesdell (100 backstroke).

Emily Kane had two first-place finishes for Cooperstown with wins in the 200 free and 500 free. Ariadne Hodgson added a victory in the 100 breaststroke.
