The Purple Devils scored seven goals in the second half en route to a 10-0 victory over the Indians in a Tri-Valley League contest Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Shannon Kingsbury scored four goals to lead Franklin, while Patricia Rodriguez-Matias netted three and Kayla Campbell notched two goals and two assists. Andrea Alvarez also scored a goal while Marissa Campbell and Valentina Temple provided an assist apiece.

Richfield Springs keeper Emma White finished with 25 saves.

The Wildcats beat the Wolverines 2-0 in a game on Thursday, Oct. 7.

Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton 3, Richfield Springs 2

Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton beat Richfield Springs 3-2 in overtime in a game that was called due to darkness on Thursday, Oct. 7.

The overtime goal was scored by G-MU’s Madeline Pain off a direct kick by Kaitlyn Finch. Pain also had an assist, and teammates Hannah Bonczkowski and Kyra Demmon each scored a goal during regular play. 

For Richfield Springs, Cam Marshall scored a goal and had an assist, Maggie Worobey scored a goal, and Molly Bobnick provided an assist.

Goalkeeper Emma White saved 15 shots for Richfield Springs, and Mckenzie Barnes blocked 14 for GMU.

Sauquoit Valley beat Cooperstown 2-0 in a girls soccer game on Thursday, Oct. 7.

Scoring for Sauquoit was Olivia Kalil and Alena Weibel each with one goal and Kaitlyn Corr with one assist.

Cooperstown goalie Sam Vezza made 16 saves in the loss.

Ari Bosc led the Patriots with two goals scored, and Kailey Barnes and Morgan Huff each scored a goal. 

Brin Whiteman and Joleen Lusk each provided an assist. Goalkeeper Daphnee West saved five shots for CVS.

The Cooperstown girls fell to Little Falls 5-0 in Saturday’s soccer game.

Olivia Lindsay netted a hat trick to lead Little Falls, while Shayna Straney finished with two goals and an assist.

Sam Vezza made nine saves in the Cooperstown goal. Abby Vadney stopped seven shots for Little Falls.

The Cooperstown boys defeated Poland 3-2 in a soccer game on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

Gavin Lesko, Aidan Spencer, and Ollie Wasson each scored one goal for Cooperstown while Austin Huckabone and Carter Cookingham each scored for Poland.

In goal, Finn Holohan made five saves for Cooperstown and Homer Conklin made nine for Poland.

The Patriots beat the Mustangs 6-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 6, thanks to a big game by Oskar Webster.

Webster led the Patriots with a hat trick in the victory. Elsewhere, Allan Parker had two goals and one assist, Max Horvath notched one goal and one assist, Will Heinrich provided three assists, and Kris Cade had one assist.

In net, Gavin Valenta made three saves for the Patriots and Jonathan Child made seven for the Mustangs.

The Wildcats beat the Spartans 5-0 in a Tri-Valley League game Wednesday, Oct. 6.

Brock Mann scored two goals and had one assist for the Wildcats. Also scoring for Milford were Cyller Cimko, Adam Peddie, and Donta Sherwood with one goal each, and Martin Thorsland, Carter Stevens, and Sawyer Eckbert each with one assist.

Chase Long had one save in goal for Milford. For Sharon Springs, Braeden All had seven saves and Luke Enyart had five.

The Wildcats defeated the Wolverines in Tri-Valley League action on Thursday, Oct. 7, thanks to a big performance from Riley Stevens.

Stevens finished with three goals and two assists to lead Milford to victory. Brock Mann also found the back of the net while Justin Lapilusa and Adam Peddie notched an assist apiece.

Connor Fancher scored the only goal of the game for the Wolverines.

Worcester’s Tyler Head made 19 saves while Milford’s Chase Long stopped six shots.

Cross Country

The Cooperstown cross country teams hosted a meet on Wednesday, Oct. 6, that also featured Clinton, Canastota, and Herkimer.

Lincoln DiLorenzo was the Hawkeyes’ top finisher on the boys side, placing third with a time of 22:16 on the three-mile course. Jonah Hitchock finished fourth in 22:21.

Margaret Raffo finished third on the girls side with a time of 24:57. Cate Bohler (fifth, 25:32) and Polly Kennedy (10th, 27:08) were the other top finishers for the Cooperstown girls.
