The Hawkeyes fell to New York Mills 32-24 at home on Saturday, Oct. 2.

Liam Ford had a terrific all-around game for Cooperstown as he went 11-for-19 for 171 yards through the air with four total touchdowns — one passing, two rushing, and one receiving.

Kalen Dempsey was the Hawkeyes’ top receiver with four catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Cooperstown will hit the road to face Sauquoit Valley on Friday at 6 p.m.


Cherry Valley-Springfield 3, Edmeston 2

The Patriots eked out a 3-2 win over the Panthers in a Tri-Valley League game Wednesday, Sept. 29.

Will Heinrich scored twice for CVS, with Allan Parker adding the third goal and Kris Cade providing an assist.

Kyle Ough scored both of Edmeston’s goals, one of which came off an assist from Gavin McEnroe.

Patriots keeper Gavin Valenta made six saves in the win while Edmeston’s Bryce Bolton stopped 14 shots.

Cooperstown prevailed over Mount Markham 5-1 on Thursday, Sept. 30, with Cooperstown pulling ahead by using a four-goal first half.

Ollie Wasson and Colby Diamond each contributed two goals, Liam Spencer added a goal of his own and an assist for the Hawkeyes, and Luca Gardner-Olesen and Aidan Spencer each added assists for Cooperstown.

For Mount Markham, Will Lenny got his team on the scoreboard with a goal.

In net, Alex Arkema saved nine shots for Mount Markham, with Finn Holohan and Charlie Lambert blocking four and two shots, respectively, for Cooperstown.

The Hawkeyes rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit to defeat Hamilton 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday, Sept. 29

Ireland Gable scored the OT winner for Cooperstown off an assist from Dani Seamon. Gabby Woeppel and Tori France were the other goal scorers for the Hawkeeys.

Kiley Delaney and Reagan Hope found the back of the net for Hamilton.

Cooperstown goalie Sam Vezza made three saves in the win. Hamilton’s Emily Neunschwander finished with 14.

Richfield Springs opened the scoring thanks to a CVS own goal, but the Patriots would score three times in the first half and four more in the second.

Aris Bosc netted a hat trick as well as an assist for CVS, while Kyra Druse, Mia Dubben, Morgan Huff, and Brin Whiteman all found the back of the net as well.

Patriots goalie Marijke Kroon made four saves in the victory while Richfield’s Emma White stopped 11 shots.
